The game includes a playing board featuring various puddles connected by dotted lines. Each player starts with a rack and a frog playing piece. The objective is to complete word cards by strategically collecting letter tiles from the puddles on the board. Players take turns rolling the dice and moving their frog piece from puddle to puddle, following the dotted lines. The number rolled on the dice determines how many puddles they move. Players can move forwards, backward, left, or right, as long as they follow a path of interconnected puddles. When a player lands on a puddle with a letter on it, they must take the corresponding letter tile from the box lid. If the letter is needed to complete a word on their word card, they place it in their rack. Otherwise, they keep it in front of them. Strategically, players guide their frogs toward the puddles with the letters they need to complete their word cards. Additionally, on each corner of the playing board, there are empty flower bed spaces. If a player lands on one of these spaces, they can demand a specific letter tile from another player. If the other player has the requested letter, they must hand it over, but if they don't, the turn ends, and play proceeds to the next player. As players complete word cards with correct spellings, they collect the cards and place them face down in front of them. The letters that made up the word on the rack are returned to the box lid. The first player to complete 7 word cards is declared the winner of "Youreka Word Puddles."
